Petition to stop EDDC from increasing car parking charges.
In February 2022 Sidmouth Chamber learnt that EDDC planned to increase car parking charges from £1.00 - £2.00 an 100% increase in the town.
We want our town to recover and thrive after a difficult two years for many. You only have read the news headlines, to realise that our businesses face a challenging 2022, with raising costs as do the residents of Sidmouth with the rise in cost of living, energy bills etc.
We feel that the proposal has not been thought though and has not allowed consultation. There has been no impact assessment, and little concern for the economic health of our communities and the business they support.
Our sincere thanks goes to all the businesses who helped collect the signatures and to all those who signed it. The Chamber of Commerce presented the petition to EDDC in March with over 1700 signatures on it
