Sidmouth Chamber of Commerce is working collaboratively with Sidmouth Town Council, Visit Sidmouth and Connaught at Christmas to promote Sidmouth, its businesses, and events to both local residents and visitors. 

All of the above parties felt the importance of supporting local businesses during this period as we appreciate that many are facing challenging times and we are keen to pull together to promote Christmas in Sidmouth through a marketing campaign across Google and social media platforms.

The campaign will promote key events such as Connaught at Christmas, Christmas lights switch on and late-night shopping and we are keen to inform visitors and local residents of the other festive things to do and enjoy throughout the town.

Call for evidence. Impact on the increases in charges in EDDC Car Parks to businesses

Following on from the car parking petition which Sidmouth Chamber of Commerce organised earlier this year, we are now asking businesses to complete this brief survey:-

Sidmouth Chamber of Commerce is collecting data on the impact of car parking charges on businesses in East Devon.  This will be presented to EDDC who promised to review the car parking charges after the peak season.

EDDC in conjunction with Cosmic, City Science and SW MAS will be running a free breakfast meeting for SMEs to help them prepare for the challenge of net zero. This is an informative event that will cover the basics and give the businesses practical tips on how to start their journey. There is funded support available for SW manufacturing advisory service and they will be present to explain more about the service they offer. Those attending will have the chance to meet other local businesses who are also looking to make progress and future proof their business operations. They will be able to find out what is coming down the line, learn from case studies and hear about the funding situation.

Back in June, we all came together in Sidmouth to celebrate the Queens Platinium Jubilee.   Sadly, on Sunday we shall all come to together in the Market Square, as the Nation observes a minute's silence.

The Sidmouth and District Armed Forces Veterans Association will be observing a minute’s silence in Sidmouth, this weekend. Members of the public are being asked to gather at 7.45pm in the Market Square to pay tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II. The minute's silence will be observed at 8pm
